    Depart Windhoek northbound on the B1 highway Namibia's main arterial road.
  • 2
    Pass through Otjiwarongo (approx. 2.5 hrs). Fuel and refreshments available.
  • 3
    Continue north through Tsumeb (approx. 4.5 hrs) last major fuel stop before Ondangwa.
  • 4
    Reach Ondangwa (approx. 6.5 hrs). Continue north toward Ohangwena Region.
  • 5
    Follow directions to Omhedi Village in Ohangwena Region. GPS coordinates below.
◆ Travel tip: This is a long day's drive. Consider an overnight stop in Tsumeb or Ondangwa, or fly into Ondangwa Airport and arrange a transfer with Omhedi.
From Etosha
Via Von Lindequist Gate — Oshakati

    Exit Etosha National Park via the Von Lindequist Gate (northeastern exit).
  • 2
    Head northeast toward Oshakati and then Ondangwa.
  • 3
    From Ondangwa, continue north into Ohangwena Region toward Omhedi Village.
◆ Best pairing: Omhedi is approximately 190 km from Von Lindequist Gate, a natural extension to an Etosha safari circuit. Many guests travel Etosha → Omhedi as a two-destination itinerary.
From Ruacana
Via C46 Road — Outapi
230–240 Kilometres
2.5–3 Hours Drive

    Depart Ruacana eastbound on the C46 road. Ruacana Falls is worth a stop before departure.

    Pass through Outapi regional town with fuel and supplies.
  • 3
    Continue east toward Ondangwa, then north into Ohangwena Region.

    Follow GPS coordinates to Omhedi Village.
◆ Travel tip: This route passes through the heart of Owamboland. Allow time, the journey itself is culturally rich. Road conditions on the C46 are generally good but check conditions during rainy season (Nov–Apr).
