These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the Omhedi Eco Cultural Lodge website and your stay at the property. They form a legally binding agreement between you and Kaleni Cultural Lodging & Tours CC, trading as Omhedi Eco Cultural Lodge, registered in the Republic of Namibia.

01Definitions

In these Terms and Conditions, unless the context otherwise requires:

"Lodge" / "Omhedi" / "we" / "us"
means Kaleni Cultural Lodging & Tours CC trading as Omhedi Eco Cultural Lodge.
"Guest" / "you"
means any person who makes a booking, visits the website, or stays at the property.
"Property"
means all buildings, grounds, activities, and facilities at Omhedi Village, Ohangwena Region, Namibia.
"Booking"
means a confirmed reservation for accommodation, activities, or any combination thereof.
"Force Majeure"
means any event beyond our reasonable control, including acts of God, natural disasters, war, terrorism, pandemic, government action, or power failure.

02Use of the website

The omhediecolodge.com website is provided for personal, non-commercial use only. You may not reproduce, copy, distribute, or commercially exploit any content on this website without the prior written consent of Omhedi Eco Cultural Lodge.

We endeavour to ensure that all information on the website is accurate and current. However, facilities, prices, and offerings may change, and we cannot guarantee the accuracy of all information at all times. Confirm current offerings with us before booking.

Omhedi is not responsible for the content of external websites linked from our pages.

03Guest conduct & responsibilities

All guests are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that is respectful of the cultural heritage of the Ovambo people, the surrounding environment, and fellow guests. Omhedi Eco Cultural Lodge reserves the right to ask any guest to leave the property without refund in cases of:

  • Conduct that is threatening, abusive, or disrespectful toward staff, community members, or other guests;
  • Deliberate damage to property or natural resources;
  • Violation of cultural protocols communicated by staff or community elders;
  • Illegal activity of any kind while on the property or in the surrounding community;
  • Excessive intoxication that creates a nuisance or safety risk.

Guests are responsible for the conduct of all members of their party, including minors.

04Eco & cultural protocols

As an eco-cultural lodge rooted in Ovambo heritage, Omhedi operates under specific environmental and cultural standards which all guests are expected to observe:

  • Photography of community members, particularly elders and the royal residence, requires explicit prior consent;
  • Single-use plastics are not permitted on the property;
  • Wildlife, plant life, and cultural artefacts on the property may not be removed, disturbed, or damaged;
  • Fire usage outside of designated areas (bonfires, braai areas) is strictly prohibited;
  • Noise levels must be kept low after 22:00 in respect of community members.

05Damage & property

Guests are liable for any loss or damage caused to the property, fixtures, or furnishings of Omhedi Eco Cultural Lodge during their stay. The cost of repair or replacement will be charged to the guest's account or payment card on file.

A security pre-authorisation may be held on the guest's payment card at check-in and released within 5 business days of departure, less any deductions for damage or outstanding charges.

06Liability & indemnity

Guests stay and participate in all activities at Omhedi at their own risk. To the fullest extent permitted by Namibian law, Omhedi Eco Cultural Lodge and Kaleni Cultural Lodging & Tours CC shall not be liable for:

  • Loss, theft, or damage to personal belongings on the property;
  • Personal injury or death arising from participation in activities, unless caused by our gross negligence;
  • Any indirect, consequential, or special loss or damage;
  • Disruptions caused by Force Majeure events;
  • Illness arising from exposure to wildlife, insects, or natural environmental conditions.

We strongly recommend that all guests obtain comprehensive travel insurance prior to arrival in Namibia, including coverage for medical evacuation.

07Intellectual property

All content on the Omhedi Eco Cultural Lodge website — including text, photographs, video, brand assets, logos, and the tagline "Where the land remembers" — is the intellectual property of Kaleni Cultural Lodging & Tours CC and is protected under applicable Namibian law. Unauthorised reproduction or commercial use is prohibited.

08Health & safety

Guests should be aware that Omhedi Eco Cultural Lodge is located in a rural area of northern Namibia. The following health and safety considerations apply:

  • Malaria prophylaxis is strongly recommended for visitors to Ohangwena Region;
  • The nearest hospital with full emergency facilities is in Oshakati. Guests with known medical conditions should carry appropriate medication;
  • Wildlife encounters may occur on and around the property. Guests must follow all safety briefings provided by staff;
  • All guests participate in a safety orientation upon check-in.

09Governing law & disputes

These Terms and Conditions are governed by and shall be construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Namibia. Any dispute arising from or in connection with these terms or a guest's stay shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Windhoek, Namibia.

In the event of a dispute, guests are encouraged to first contact lodge management directly at info@omhediecolodge.com or via WhatsApp at +264 81 237 5001 to seek an amicable resolution.

10Amendments to these terms

Omhedi Eco Cultural Lodge reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time. Updated terms will be published on the website with a revised effective date. Continued use of the website or property following an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
